I'm beginning to worry that I spend too much time concerned with the technological trappings of the world around us. I think Lord Vader put it best when he admonished Imperial Admiral Motti not to be too proud of the technological terror he'd constructed—after all, the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force. Or, for that matter, the power of the Internet to slowly suck your life away, gurgling down a series of tubes. But seriously, when you close your eyes at night and just see an endless parade of dancing cell phones, multifunction printers, and digital music players, you can be sure of one thing: your dreams are going to be seriously messed up, man. So, you may ask, what do video camera glasses, a gaming projector, and a compact bag have in common? Other than all being featured in this week's edition of Gadgetbox, I have absolutely no idea.
Sony’s Cyber-Shot Dsc-T300 Camera Combines Function With Style
Sony is taking the wraps off a new 10.1-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-T300 digital camera, featuring a stylish, ultra-compact design and intelligent functionality to help reduce the risk of taking a bad photo. The new model incorporates Sonys new intelligent scene recognition (iSCN), a technology that allows the camera to analyze shooting conditions and automatically select the optimal settings for the best photo results. In iSCN mode, the camera can automatically detect up to five scenes, and choose the best setting for the situation. In advanced iSCN mode, the camera will shoot using the users settings and then will automatically step in and take a second shot with optimized settings. If the camera determines that the users settings are best, then a second photo is not taken.

JVC introduces high-resolution fixed IP network camera
JVC Professional Europe has extended its IP camera product line up with the introduction of a new high-resolution fixed IP network camera, model VN-V25U. The VN-V25U comes in a 23% smaller enclosure than its predecessor the VN-C20U and incorporates advanced electronics for IP surveillance. The VN-V25U produces superior image quality and the camera provides full motion dual stream VGA resolution for both Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 images at 30 frames per second (fps). Here, operators are able to view images in real-time and at a low bandwidth MPEG-4. When an alarm is triggered, the camera can stream real-time Motion JPEG images for continuous and high quality recording. The Wide-D function incorporated inside the camera is the equivalent to the conventional wide dynamic range function found inside traditional analogue CCTV cameras and allows pictures to be adjusted to identify details of the subject even in backlit conditions.

Samuel is eager for bidding to get started
New England is the only team that can negotiate with Samuel right now, but at 12:01 a.m. on Feb. 29, Shavers and partner Jay Bianco can start fielding calls from all 32 teams. "There's always communication going on with our situation," Shavers said. "We don't eliminate anyone until we've signed a new deal and move to a new city." Shavers called New England Samuel's "birthplace," and Samuel has said he'd like to remain with the Patriots. But he is also anticipating the chance to hit the open market. It is expected that Samuel's deal will exceed the $28.5 million that Nate Clements got over the first three years he received from San Francisco last year. Clements' deal was announced as eight years, $80 million, but the final year of the deal was already voided, making it a seven-year, $64-million pact.
